Our Procurement Unit plays a pivotal role in enabling us to achieve our strategic goals and objectives in sport and youth development. By managing the acquisition of goods, works and services, the Unit helps us maintain continuity of operations, support national events and implement infrastructure projects in accordance with the law.
Key Functions
Through our Procurement Unit, we:
- Support programme delivery and day-to-day operations by ensuring divisions and programmes receive the resources they need on time, including support for youth initiatives, sporting events and infrastructure projects.
- Promote transparency, accountability and value for money by conducting all procurement activities in accordance with the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Property Act, 2015 (as amended), its Regulations and the Rules and Guidelines issued by the Office of Procurement Regulation (OPR).
- Align procurement activities with approved budgets and work plans, in collaboration with programme units, the Accounts Unit and the Planning Unit, so that expenditure supports our strategic priorities.
- Encourage the participation of local suppliers, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and community-based contractors, thereby supporting inclusive economic development.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure that procurement decisions are consistent with our strategic objectives for sport and youth development.
