The Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs (MSYA), an agency of the Government of Trinidad and Tobago, is responsible for advancing sport development nationwide. Through its Sport Division, the Ministry promotes total participation, healthy and active lifestyles, and excellence in sport, while providing structured support for athletes at all stages—from grassroots participation to elite and high-performance competition—strengthening the national sporting ecosystem and positioning Trinidad and Tobago for sustained success on the global stage.
The Youth Affairs Division continuously re-examines it’s youth development agenda, to ensure that we deliver a coordinated, relevant, youth-centered and youth-friendly system that caters to the current and emerging needs of the 550.000 plus youth population of Trinidad and Tobago.
The MSYA recognizes the need across all age groups and sectors, for shared responsibility, common values and positive experiences, as well as improvement within communities. As such the Ministry creates opportunities for youth activists, non-profit organizations, youth-led and youth-serving organizations, as well as the national community to contribute to the National Service platform/agenda for Trinidad and Tobago.
