Register your business with the Office of Procurement Regulation (OPR)

Suppliers wishing to do business with public bodies in Trinidad and Tobago must register and pre-qualify on the Office of Procurement Regulation (OPR) Procurement Depository, as mandated by the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Property Act. , requiring documentation like VAT, BIR clearance, and company incorporation.

Key Steps for Supplier Registration (OPR):

  • Visit the Portal: Register at the OPR’s Procurement Depository.
  • Create Profile: Set up a profile as an individual or organization.
  • Upload Documents: Submit necessary documents, including:
    • Certificate of Incorporation/Registration.
    • Valid Board of Inland Revenue (BIR) Clearance Certificate.
    • Valid VAT Registration Certificate.
    • Valid National Insurance Board (NIB) Compliance Certificate.
    • Client references (at least 3) for work in the last 3 years.
  • Input Information: Define your line of business (goods, works, or services).
  • Verification: The OPR will review the information to confirm pre-qualification status.

Important Notes:

Alternatives: Some entities like the Tobago Regional Health Authority (TRHA) may have their own micro-procurement registration, but OPR is the central authority.

Mandatory: Registration with the OPR is mandatory to contract with any public body in Trinidad and Tobago.
